1. Cocoa Delay by Tesselode lod

Cocoa Delay is a free, open-source delay plugin in VST format. It focuses on clean design, easy operation, and a warm, lively sound.

▷ Delay time drift, for giving the wet signal a slight wow/flutter effect

▷ Adjustable wet level ducking based on the input signal

▷ Static, ping-pong, and circular pan modes

▷ Drive section based on open-source Airwindows saturation code

System Support

Windows Only, VST2 32-bit,VST2 64-bit

2. Delay by Stagecraft

A quantizing, dual band Delay designed with EDM music in mind. Our delay is the only one out there to show you the spectrum response as you play, so you can literally see the effect it has on the audio.

System Support

Windows and OS X 10.7 or newer

VST Plugin, an Audio Units Plugin, a VST 3 Plugin and an AAX Plugin.

3. HZ Delay by Higher Hz

HZ Delay is a character effect which means that it doesn’t do all things equally. Matter of fact it deliberately does some things oddly or not at all to allow it to have the sort of character so sought after in older analog gear.

The sorts of effects or outcomes HZ Delay will help you to achieve are:

Chorus – simple and BBD

Echo – simple and multi-tap

Reverb – simple early reflections

The idea is that commonly you will be balancing some or all of the above as you use HZ Delay to add depth & sparkle to any (or all) of the sounds in your mix.

System Support

MacOS and Windows ( VST/VST3)

4. KhzDelay by Kilohearts

The kHs Delay can be run both free running and tempo synced with various stereo and feedback options. Most notable however is the duck feature, which optionally only lets the echoed sound through when there is no dry input signal. This allows for long and heavy delay while still avoiding clutter over the original sound

System Support

MacOS (Supports M1) and Windows (64Bit VST/VST3)

6.Tal-DUB III by Tal Software

TAL-DUB-III is an easy to use delay device with some special features. Its no tape delay emulation and has its own sound. It has an alias free saturation stage, a non-linear 6dB low pass and a 3dB high pass filter that are included in the feedback path of the device. An input drive knob allows to adjust the saturation level. Pop-up menues show the current values of volume, delay-time and feedback knobs. A tab button allowing to adjust the delay time for live sessions.

System Support

Windows XP or higher (32 / 64 bit VST)

OSX 10.6 and < 10.10 (32 bit VST/AU).

8.Sound Delay by Voxengo

Sound Delay is an auxiliary multi-channel signal delaying AAX, AudioUnit, and VST plugin for professional sound and music production applications. You may specify delay time in both milliseconds and samples, with a high level of precision. This plugin – being technical in its purpose – provides a basic signal delaying function only, without signal feedback or modulation capabilities. Sound Delay also features internal mid/side encoding and decoding, and allows you to delay mid and side channels independently.

macOS (10.11 and later version.Apple Silicon native, Big Sur, Monterey, and Ventura are supported

AudioUnit, AAX and VST

9.Tempo Delay by Voxengo

Tempo Delay is based on tempo, incorporating filter and tremolo sections with separate controls for each stereo channel. Instead of a single “delay length” control this plug-in features separate “delay”, “repetition period” and “delay panning” controls which allow you to create an evenly sounding “ping-pong” stereo echoes.

11. Hysteresis by Glitch Machines

Hysteresis is a versatile effects processor geared toward electronic musicians and sound designers. Process anything from drums to synths, guitars, vocals and sound effects. On top of being able to create contorted signal mutations, it can also be tamed to generate classic delay effects.

Hysteresis features a delay effect with stutter, lowpass filter and modulation effects thrown into the feedback signal path. The input signal first goes through a delay line on each stereo channel, but instead of sending the output directly back into the delay line, the resulting signal is sent to a stutter processor, then to a lowpass filter and finally to another delay line on the opposite channel which is modulated for creating chorus type effects.

The output of the second delay line is then routed back to the first one on the original channel. The stutter effect can be used to generate reverse delays, noisy pitch-shifting or raw granulation. The lowpass filter has an internal LFO to make the cutoff frequency oscillate, and the modulation processor can act as a subtle chorus or noisy modulator depending on the range of the modulation rate.
